If you're looking for subtlety, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed probably isn't the show for you. This Apple TV+ thriller hits the accelerator from the opening episode and never really bothers touching the brakes. Packed with twists, double-crosses and enough adrenaline to power a small city, it's one of the most outrageously entertaining series of the year.

Leading the charge is Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, who once again proves she's one of the most compelling performers working today. She brings just the right balance of vulnerability, intelligence and unpredictability to a character constantly caught in increasingly absurd situations. The supporting cast is equally impressive, with everyone fully committed to the show's wonderfully unhinged energy.

What really sets the series apart is its sheer confidence. The plot frequently veers into completely bonkers territory, but somehow it always remains enormously watchable. Every episode ends with another reason to immediately hit "next episode", making this dangerously bingeable television.

Then there's the soundtrack. Pulsing, kinetic and perfectly matched to the chaos unfolding on screen, the music becomes a character in its own right. Combined with slick direction and relentless pacing, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed delivers a gloriously over-the-top thrill ride that's impossible not to enjoy. Four stars.
