Christian Lavey: A Master of Mentalism

Christian Lavey, a Luxembourg-based mentalist and psychological illusionist, is an award-winning entertainer who performs internationally on cruise ships, at festivals, and for corporate events. Voted Artist of the Year in 2021, Christian is known for his captivating blend of mind-reading, psychology, and interactive entertainment. His performances are designed to leave lasting memories by engaging audiences in ways that go beyond traditional magic tricks.

He also shared a bit about how he first got into magic, recalling how he learned the art from his grandfather, who was a magician himself. Christian revealed some of the ‘secrets’ of the magician’s code, emphasising the importance of mystery and wonder in creating a magical experience. But, not everything always goes according to plan on stage and Christian was open about that too. He shared some of the challenges that can arise during live performances and how improvisation and quick thinking are often key to keeping the magic alive when things don’t go as expected.

Fancy catching Christian in action? He will be performing a family show in Vianden on Saturday 13 December before jetting off around the globe on another cruise ship adventure. Check out his website for more information.

Aspen and Kelyn: The Rising Stars of The Golden Ticket

On the other side of the creative spectrum, Melissa also welcomed two talented young performers from the And Be You theatre school, Aspen (14) and Kelyn (13). These rising stars are part of the upcoming production of The Golden Ticket, an adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that focuses on Charlie’s grandparents. The play will be performed at the Cultural Centre in Junglinster on 13 and 15 December at 18:00.

Aspen and Kelyn shared their excitement about their roles in the production and their experiences at And Be You ASBL, a nonprofit organisation that encourages creativity through the performing arts. The theatre school provides a supportive environment for young people to develop their talents and express themselves through the arts.

In addition to discussing their roles in The Golden Ticket, Aspen and Kelyn talked about preparing for their LAMDA drama exams. Their training has helped them gain more confidence, refine their acting skills, and grow as performers. If you would like to go see their production head on over to the And Be You website.
