Luxembourg illusionist David Goldrake has been named the International Magicians Society's Magician of the Year 2026, earning his second Merlin Award.

Luxembourg illusionist and Las Vegas headliner David Goldrake has been named Magician of the Year 2026 by the International Magicians Society, receiving the organisation's Merlin Award for the second time in his career. The society presents the award in recognition of achievement in areas including performance, originality, and innovation in magic.

Previous recipients have included prominent illusionists such as Siegfried & Roy and David Copperfield.

Known for combining large-scale illusions with theatrical storytelling, Goldrake recently concluded his Las Vegas residency, called An Evening of Grand Illusion. The production featured, among other things, close-up sleight of hand and a water cell escape.

Goldrake, who is originally from Luxembourg, shared that he is now planning "several exciting projects" in his home country in 2027.
