Speaking on RTL Today Radio, Rech revealed that the festival had to deal with a last-minute artist cancellation after Dutch folk-pop duo Jack and the Weatherman were forced to withdraw due to a medical issue.
Despite the setback, organisers quickly found a replacement in London-based singer-songwriter Geo Dara, an emerging artist Rech says the team "fell in love with instantly" thanks to his upbeat style and positive energy.
"We wanted something that is positive, that is sunny. It's going to be hot, so we want the audience to have a big smile when that artist comes on stage."
Rech explained that replacing artists at short notice is part of festival life, with organisers maintaining close relationships with performers, agents and managers throughout the year. Rather than focusing solely on big names, Fête de la Musique prides itself on discovering new talent, pointing to past appearances from acts such as Giant Rooks and ClockClock before they achieved wider recognition.
Now in its 33rd year, Fête de la Musique remains one of Luxembourg's largest free music events.
More than 70 artists will perform across 14 stages, with around 90 percent of the programme showcasing local talent.
Alongside international guests including Patrice, Amistat and Gavin James, organisers are preparing for warm weather by increasing water supplies, adding free refill stations and ensuring technical equipment can cope with the heat.
"I'd rather have good weather than bad weather."
