In case you missed their last show here in Luxembourg, here's another chance to catch Brighton duo Lambrini Girls at den Atelier on Wednesday, 26 May.
Since their last visit, the duo (consisting of Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez) have announced a new album on the way: No Refunds, due out on 15 January, 2027. The first single off the new record, Bang Bang Bang, is a dense, raucous riot grrrl track replete with that signature refusal to conform.
Their catalogue is in fact full of this kind of sound – angry rebuttals of the status quo, of macho chauvinism, of enforced heteronormativity. On tracks like God's Country, it's all about repudiating 'racist uncles', 'flag shaggers', and austerity.
It's a punk rock attitude that's become somewhat rare in rock as of late, one that creates cohesive political messaging out of chaotic sounds and times. A standard Lambrini Girls show, to say the least, revels in that 21st-century punk energy.
Luxembourgish punks and those generally miffed with the current state of affairs can't miss another round of The Lambrini Girls at den Atelier on Wednesday, 26 May, 2027.
It might be a ways away, but their new album will be out by then. And it's not like the world is going to magically fix itself in the meantime either, is it?
