Luxembourg-based production company Encore Pictures is currently casting for As Things Were, a new short film supported by the Luxembourg Film Fund.

The film tells the story of a family from Luxembourg navigating their parents’ divorce, seen through the eyes of their children. By focusing on a young perspective, the project aims to explore a familiar social reality with honesty and sensitivity, grounded in local experience.

The production team is now looking for actors living in or around the Grand Duchy. All roles are paid, filming will take place in Luxembourg in May, and no previous theatre or film experience is required. Fluency in English is essential for all roles.

Roles available

  • Noah: boys aged 9 to 13
  • Shannon: girls aged 6 to 10
  • Mum: women aged 30 to 50
  • Dad: men aged 30 to 50

How to apply

Interested applicants are asked to provide:

  • Name, age, and height
  • Two to three recent photos
  • A short presentation video of around one minute in English, introducing yourself and talking briefly about your hobbies, school, or interests
  • For children’s roles, the name and contact details of a parent or guardian
