Extra-sensory Abilities: Sense8 – Netflix
Eight different people from eight different cultures – Mexico City, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Nairobi, Mumbai and Seoul – start having what seems to be visions. Bit by bit they discover that they are in fact psychically linked, connected in a cluster as sensates.
What one of them experiences, all the others feel too, thousands of kilometers away. They start communicating through those bonds, helping each other out in their daily lives, discovering that they are even able to share their bodies.
When they find out that a private organization, BPO, is hunting sensates throughout the world with the intention of studying and containing them, they start fighting for their freedom.
“Sense8” was created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski who are also responsible for the “Matrix” films. The show is gorgeously filmed mostly on location in the different cities, making it one of the most expensive series on Netflix.
Exploring subjects such as sexual orientation and identity, religion and politics through the different characters, it shares an optimistic view about humanity as being able to experience love and acceptance even in the face of adversity.
