Grand Hotel
In 1906 at the Gran Hotel in Cantaloa, Spain, Julio, a young man from the working class, arrives to visit his sister Christina who works there as a chambermaid. When he is told that Christina was fired for theft and then disappeared, he becomes convinced that something has happened to her and takes a job as a waiter to investigate.
At the same time, Alicia, the daughter of the owner of the hotel, Doña Teresa, is being forced by her mother to marry the hotel manager Diego. She is suspicious about her father’s death and her mother’s relationship to Diego.
When Alicia and Julio meet, they start working together to uncover the secrets being kept by the people closest to them. Their love story develops slowly, with many ups and downs, as they must overcome not only the differences in their backgrounds but also the machinations of Doña Teresa and Don Diego, who try to keep them apart while following their own dishonest goals.
The show depicts an “upstairs-downstairs” world not unsimilar to “Downton Abbey” where several storylines take place, involving a large cast, but Alicia’s and Julio’s love story is the reason a true romantic will watch.
