Based on a book collaboration by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens is about Armageddon. Or how it is prevented by those that were supposed to start it.
Angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley have known each other since Paradise was lost. They’re enemies of course, but all that time on earth makes them sort of friends. Having established a working relationship where they help each other out on occasion, they find themselves in a dilemma the day Crowley receives orders to start the Apocalypse by finding and protecting the Antichrist, who’s supposed to be born in a small English hospital to an American diplomat.
Deciding that they rather like living among humans, they switch the baby, then lose it. Years later, Adam Young is growing up in a small English village when the riders of the Apocalypse are called together.
What ensues is a funny, sometimes very philosophical show with great dialogues where actors Martin Sheen and David Tennant are on excellent form.
“Good Omens” is available on Amazon, not on Netflix, as an American Christian organization had to find out when they launched an online petition against Netflix to stop the release of the show. Which perfectly matches the humor of the show.
