For the first time in history, saving mankind means staying home and watching TV. In order not to screw this up, we can rely on TV shows particularly suitable for a binge marathon.
Alicia Florrick gave up a career as a lawyer when she got pregnant. Then her husband, the Cook County State’s Attorney is caught up in a very public sex and political corruption scandal. Even though in public she stands with her husband, she goes back to work as a lawyer at the firm of a former flame from college. Over 7 seasons we get to see her evolution from a good wife to a powerful lawyer.
The show is very well written, the dialogues intelligent and often funny. In addition to a “case of the week”, the show follows several story arcs that play out over multiple episodes with themes relevant to society, law and politics. These are played out between the different characters who are not always of one mind and represent the different aspects of an argument.
The show aired from 2009 to 2016 and won numerous awards, especially for the excellent performances of the actors. There are 156 episodes in all, which, at rate of 4 episodes a day, should last until the start of May.
