Starting with Luxembourg

  • The latest figures from Luxembourg show that 68 new cases of coronavirus were discovered over the last 24 hours.

  • 16 new petitions have been placed online and can be signed until 8 November. Three are concerned with the ongoing pandemic.

  • The Philippines has approved Covid-19 jabs for children as young as 12, an aide to President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday, as the country battles surging infections fuelled by the hyper-contagious Delta variant.

  • France’s pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, which has lagged rivals in producing new generation Covid-19 vaccines, said Tuesday it had decided to halt development of an mRNA candidate and focus on another vaccine against coronavirus.

  • US pharmaceutical company Pfizer said Monday it had begun a clinical trial to test an influenza vaccine designed with the same mRNA technology behind its successful Covid-19 shot.
