Brussels police confirmed a one-year-old girl had fallen from the second floor of a building at around 5.55pm on Wednesday.
The child was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this stage, according to the police at Bruxelles Capital Ixelles.
The exact circumstances of the fall are unknown. Brussels prosecutors have opened an investigation into the matter.
