  • The Ministry of Education and Radio 100,7 organised a webinar to discuss the biggest challenges faced by teenagers during the ongoing pandemic. According to one researcher, young people had difficulties naming positive aspects of the crisis.

  • According to Johns Hopkins University, on Friday the US hit another new daily record for coronavirus cases, 126,480, with 1,146 deaths. The US has had four straight days of more than 1,000 coronavirus deaths this week - the longest streak since August. The death toll currently stands at 235,925.

  • The two Formula 1 Grand Prix to be contested in Bahrain this season will be held behind closed doors, apart from some guest members of the kingdom’s health services, organisers said on Saturday.
  • Iran on Saturday announced a new record of more than 9,000 new cases of Covid-19 infections in the Middle East’s worst hit country, as the government imposed new restrictions. The latest official figure of 9,450 positive novel coronavirus cases in a 24-hour period comes after a consistent daily count of more than 8,000 in the past six days.

  • Bosnian PM Zoran Tegeltija is said to be self-isolating at home with mild Covid symptoms, according to a statement published by the cabinet.
  • The UK government has halted all UK-bound travel from Denmark after reports emerged of a Covid-19 mutation related to mink. The rule came into force as of 4am on Saturday, after a Covid committee meeting on Friday. All non-British national or resident travellers who have been in or transited through Denmark in the past 14 days will be denied entry into the UK.
