Starting with Luxembourg

  • The latest Covid-19 figures by the Ministry of Health show that 120 cases were discovered from 17,714 tests over the last 72 hours.
  • A new report by STATEC on the national job market concludes that employment in 2020 increased by 2% compared to the year earlier, despite difficulties caused by the pandemic.

And abroad

  • Hong Kong civil servants, teachers and healthcare workers must get vaccinated against the coronavirus or pay for regular testing, the city’s leader announced Monday, as her administration adopted a push into mandatory inoculations.
  • Iran‘s daily Covid caseload crossed 37,000 mark for the first time on Monday, the health ministry said, also registering 411 coronavirus-related deaths. The recent spike is blamed on lax observance of health protocols and the spread of the more aggressive Delta variant.
  • Poland said it was stepping up security at vaccination points following two arson incidents overnight in a single town and an attempt by anti-vaccine activists to break into another. There were no casualties from the fires.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers from the US and EU can now arrive in the UK without having to isolate. The new rules came into effect at 4am on Monday but they have not yet been met by a reciprocal easing of restrictions for travellers from the UK. The new rule applies to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
