The Mayor of Metz wrote in a statement: “Despite social distancing, Omicron got to me.” Grosdidier further underlined the high level of transmissibility of the virus.
The elected official also conveyed that he was vaccinated three times and that he is not experiencing any symptoms at the moment. He is currently in isolation so as not to risk “transmitting this volatile virus”.
Mayor Grosdidier emphasised in his statement that he will continue working remotely and that he is saddened to miss out on important in person events, such as the funeral of Metz alderman André Nazeyrollas.
