Paulette Lenert was invited as a guest of honour to participate in the Bastille Day celebrations in Paris this Tuesday. French officials thanked Luxembourg and expressed its gratitude for taking in 11 critically ill patients from the Grand Est region when the pandemic was reaching its peak and France’s hospitals risked being overburdened.

Minister for Solidarity and Health Olivier Véran took to Twitter to applaud “European solidarity,” which, according to the politician, is synonymous with concrete acts rather than mere words. He also posted a picture showing Paulette Lenert at its centre.

Luxembourg’s Minister of Health was recently found to be the country’s most popular politician in an TNS ILRES survey.
