..and the EU flag went up in its place.
Glaswegians did their thing, and put a poignant cone on the statue of the Duke of Wellington
Nigel Farage warmed up well in advance of the official exit, in true Farage style.
..while fellow Brexiteer Steve Baker suggest his kin should celebrate with grace.
The date was also noted in Luxembourg, as BRILL (British Immigrants Living in Luxembourg) arranged a vigil to mark the occasion.
