A tractor overturned on the L42 between Olk and Ralingen, landing on the opposite carriageway. A car coming in the other direction was crushed by the trailer, but the driver managed to free himself and escaped with light injuries. The tractor driver was unharmed.

The pigs carried in the trailer escaped and were herded and captured by the fire brigades from Olk, Newel, Ralingen and Welschbillig. 107 of them were brought to a nearby farm. One pig was too severely injured and had to be put down.

A special crane was used to remove trailer and car. Material damages of the accident are estimated to be around 50,000 euros and the road had to be closed for five hours. The helicopter from the Luxembourg Air Rescue also attended.
