More than two months after the shooting which ended two people’s lives during a wedding ceremony in Thionville, one of the suspects has supposedly been caught.
In June of this year, this news story dominated headlines in the Lorraine region in France: a suspect was arrested two months after the murders that occurred during a wedding in Thionville. Our colleagues at France 3 Grand Est reported this development in the investigation on Friday.
According to French media, a police operation took place in Maxéville on October 8. Numerous officers, some wearing hoods for protection, executed a house search and arrested the male resident, who is suspected of being one of the masterminds behind the murders.
The shooting incident occurred in late June, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and severe injuries to two others. Three hooded and heavily armed men opened fire on guests gathered outside the venue where the wedding was set to take place. An investigation for premeditated group murder was launched, and this theory remains the focus of the inquiry. French investigators suspect the murders were linked to settling drug-trafficking debts.
