A 67-year-old woman who was hit by a rescue vehicle during the floods in Saarbrücken, died of her injuries on Sunday evening.
The mayor of Saarbrücken, Uwe Conradt, spoke of a "terrible tragedy" and was "deeply saddened by the news".
Same as in Luxembourg, the situation has eased in Saarland and water levels are falling, but the authorities are still urging people to be careful and not to take any unnecessary risks.
The weather forecasts continue to give cause for concern in Saarland. They remain uncertain for today, Tuesday, as meteorologists are expecting heavy rainfall that could fall locally.
A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued by MeteoLux for Luxembourg for Tuesday from 6am until midnight.
