Don't forget, we've lost an hour: clocks jumped forward in Europe this morning at 2am.

Plans to scrap Daylight Saving Time in the European Union appear to have fallen by the wayside. First announced in 2018, the decision has stalled of late, possibly as a result of the pandemic and Brexit complications.

The European Parliament voted to put a stop on daylight saving time on 26 March 2019, but disagreements among member states has meant the plan is still yet to be implemented some two years later. As the shadow of coronavirus still hangs heavy over the continent, it is not likely that the clock change will be bumped to the top of the priority list for some time yet.

So don't worry if you've woken up and it's a bit later than you expected - you deserve a lie in!
