This year's edition of Schuttrange's classic car festival unfolded against the backdrop of Munsbach Castle, as its usual site was unavailable. Visitors to the show could marvel at Grand Duchess Charlotte's Chrysler Imperial, Prince Felix's Jaguar MK2, and a number of other valuable, rare motors, including one known as automobile royalty.
Encased in a box suspended above the crowd, the red vintage Bugatti was the jewel in the festival's 2026 crown. Often described as automobile royalty, the 1934 model is viewed by enthusiasts as a fusion of absolute luxury, perfected engineering and pure performance. Although the owner preferred to remain anonymous, Thierry Schloesser, a rally driver and organiser of the festival, had nothing but praise for them. The Bugatti is really something special, he said, and it meant a lot that the festival had been entrusted with it.
The beautiful historic site provided the perfect backdrop, lending the festival an air of elegance to match the vehicles on display. But the organisers are not elitist, rather, just real car enthusiasts with a total appreciation of anything on two, four, or more wheels. Among them is Laurent Schandeler, a car lover with multiple vehicles on display at the show, including a replica Chevrolet. These also have their place among the vintage old-timers at precisely such an event.
The event continues on Sunday, with other attractions promised by the organisers. The site can be reached via shuttle buses.
