On Friday morning, there was an explosion in a residential building in Turnhout. The detonation created a large hole in the building and for 4 people, all help came too late. According to the Flemish police, it must have been a “massive gas bubble”.
Forensic experts are now to examine the remains and heaters to find out the cause of the explosion. According to the mayor, the building will probably be demolished. The neighbouring house that was damaged in the incident was able to be stabilised. The residents will most likely be able to return.
