For unknown reasons, the woman lost control over her car and crossed over to the opposing lane, a manoeuvre that ended in a frontal collision with a bus. The bus driver suffered critical injuries in the process, while two out of eight passengers were also injured.
The pregnant woman rushed to the hospital, but she succumbed to her wounds soon after. The unborn baby did not survive the incident. The Saarbrucken prosecution has opened an investigation into the accident.
