On Sunday evening, police were called out to Grand-Rue in Wasserbillig, where two teenagers had been threatened and mugged by a group of youths. One of the young victims was made to hand over his mobile phone after being intimidated by the youths.

Police initiated a search for the perpetrators. Three suspects were located in Grevenmacher, but they ran away when they realised the police were after them. Two of the perpetrators were later caught by police near the local swimming pool. The stolen phone was recovered and returned to its owner.

During a search of the suspects, officers confiscated a number of mobile phones, cash, a large amount of hashish and two knives. They were unable to locate the third suspect.

Investigations are ongoing. One of the arrested individuals was moved to the Dreiborn juvenile detention centre by order of the public prosecutor's office.
