13 youth groups have organised a demonstration to take place outside the Chamber of Deputies at 3pm on Tuesday, calling upon parties across the political spectrum to treat the housing crisis as a priority and to finally introduce concrete and efficient measures.

For many young people in Luxembourg it is financially impossible to find a home. "Rents and high house prices in Luxembourg make it impossible for young people in work to find a home that suits their needs and financial means", the OGBL trade union said in a statement.

Among the protesters on Tuesday will be the youth organisations representing the LSAP, the Greens, the Left, the OGBL, and LCGB trade unions, and selected student organisations.

On Monday, housing minister Claude Meisch announced at the housing tripartite meeting that he planned to meet with representatives of the 13 organisations after the October half term holiday. On Monday, Maxime Pantaleoni, one of the organisers, spoke to RTL about the difficulties young people were facing in Luxembourg at present.
