The perpetrators posed as representatives collecting donations for a charitable organisation, gaining entry to the victim’s residence under false pretences.
Subsequently, one of the impostors requested a glass of water as a diversion tactic. When the woman let the perpetrators out of her sight for a moment to go get water, one of the individuals snatched the woman’s wallet and hastily made their escape.
In a separate occurrence, a break-in transpired around 1.30am on Tuesday night at a residence located on Rue Dr Auguste Schumacher in Mondorf-les-Bains. Preliminary information suggests that the culprits entered the property through the garage and searched a vehicle. After being discovered by the residents of the home, the burglars fled the scene.
The police have initiated investigations into both cases.
