Residents will once again be reaching for hats, gloves, and ice scrapers as the cold returns to Luxembourg. Although some may not have needed them just yet, the weekend’s temperature drop marks only the start of a colder spell.
The chill is expected to intensify as the week progresses, heralding an early return of winter ahead of its official beginning.

Gone are the mild, double-digit daytime temperatures that persisted well into last week and even made a brief appearance during the recent spell of sunny weather.
From Monday onwards, temperatures will steadily fall, with morning lows expected to hit 0°C by the end of the week. While skies will often remain overcast, the weather is forecast to stay mostly dry.
During the first half of the week, daytime highs will hover between 7°C and 9°C, but by Friday, the mercury is unlikely to exceed 8°C.
The cold will be most noticeable at night, with temperatures dropping to 1°C from Wednesday evening and only reaching a maximum of 3°C overnight.
As Friday morning could see temperatures plunge to freezing, Meteolux hightlihgts the need for motorists to fit winter tyres without delay.
