
The centre was forced to cease all activity in rescuing wildlife shortly after confinement began in March. A number of staff members were placed in quarantine, so the remainder of the staff chose to focus on the 200 animals already in their care.
Thanks to financial support from the government, the centre has been able to employ two new members of staff on short-term contracts until the autumn, to make up for the lack of volunteers due to safety distancing measures.
The Dudelange centre, which normally relies on help from volunteers, expects to treat up to 2,500 animals until July as its busiest season begins.
