Fatal robbery in KirchbergWhite March in honour of victim draws 72 people

RTL Today
Friends and relatives of the victim of a fatal robbery, which took place in a Kirchberg restaurant on Easter, organised a White March in honour of the deceased on Sunday.

Since the 46-year-old woman was buried in her Italian home town at the end of April, her next of kin decided to also organise a farewell event in the Grand Duchy.

72 people came to the march in honour of Sonia di Pinto. The group included friends, relatives, and colleagues, most of whom wore a white t-shirt with a picture of the victim and carried a white balloon.

The march ended at the park behind the Coque sports centre, where participants remembered the victim while holding hands. The partner of the deceased then addressed the crowd, before people let their balloons fly away.

Details about the fatal robbery

The Italian woman, who had lived in Luxembourg for several years and worked in a Kirchberg restaurant, fell victim to a fatal robbery on Easter. Two attackers surprised her while she was emptying the cash register and began striking her repeatedly, which resulted in her death. They then fled the scene with €3,000 in cash.

At the end of April, police arrested three individuals suspected to have been involved in the deadly incident, including one restaurant employee, who supposedly allowed the other two access to the establishment.
