Veterinary inspection confirmsWallaby 'kangaroo' Sammy is dead

RTL Today
Sammy the wallaby was on the loose for two weeks in Luxembourg before his eventual capture on June 19. Today, sadly, we learned of the animal's death.

His escapade kept Luxembourg in suspense for two weeks. In early June, the wallaby ‘Sammy’ ran away from his home near Echternach. Untraceable, the animal was finally reunited with its owner on June 19.

The owner, who did not have permission to keep a kangaroo at home, was then required to go through the necessary steps to keep Sammy. However, this was ultimately not necessary — as a veterinary inspection confirmed to RTL Luxembourg on Tuesday that the wallaby had died. Details on the cause and date of Sammy’s death should be communicated by the same veterinary source on Wednesday.
