
A mother and her son were hit by a car in Heisdorf at around 5pm. According to the police report, they were crossing the road at the intersection of Rue de Mullendorf and Rue de Luxembourg when they were hit by a van.
The driver later stated that he did not see the two pedestrians, who were on a pedestrian crossing. They were thrown to the ground and received first aid on the spot before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
At around 1.20am on early Friday morning, a motorist crashed into a parked car in Rue d’Eich in Luxembourg City. A pedestrian was behind the car and was also hit. He was admitted to hospital with an injured leg.
A second person was on the pavement at the time of the accident but was not injured. The driver of the vehicle involved was found to be inebriated. His driving licence was withdrawn.
The police withdrew two more driving licences. At around 8.30pm, the driver of a van stationed his vehicle on the Däichwisen car park in Ettelbruck but forgot to pull the handbrake, which resulted in the van rolling down the car park and into the Alzette. A breathalyser test revealed that the man was intoxicated.
The second incident occurred on Route du Vin in Remich at around 4am. A police patrol noticed a motorist who was driving erratically. After the officers decided to pull the driver over, they quickly discovered that he was inebriated.
