A routine Friday afternoon in Bettembourg turned into a distressing ordeal for a 19-year-old woman, who was assaulted by an unknown man in the street before he followed her and attacked her again outside her home minutes later.
The incidents took place in quick succession between 3.05pm and 3.10pm near the intersection of Rue du Coin and Rue Dicks in Bettembourg.
The first assault occurred while the young woman was near the crossroads. An unknown man suddenly grabbed and hugged her. The victim immediately fought back and managed to break free, falling to the ground in the process. The attacker then fled towards Rue Michel Lentz.
Shortly afterwards, as she arrived at her home, the woman realised the same man had followed her. He launched another assault just outside her residence. She again resisted, prompting the attacker to escape on foot. While the victim was not physically injured, police are treating the case with utmost seriousness.
Police describe the suspect as a black man, approximately 20 years old, around 1.70m tall, and of slim build with short, closely cropped hair. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing black slide sandals with socks, white Bermuda-style shorts with grey spots, and a navy-blue Nike tracksuit jacket.
