DifferdangeUnknown culprits threaten victim with firearm

The police had their work cut out for them on Friday evening with incidents including an armed robbery in Differdange, stolen mobile phones in Diekirch, and a gathering of 500 people in the Kockelscheuer car park.

On Friday afternoon, a man was attacked in the municipal park in Differdange. Three assailants threatened the victim with a firearm to extort cigarettes and money. No one was injured in the incident, according to the police. Witnesses are also sought for a burglary that took place at the local Cactus supermarket in Diekirch between late Friday evening and early Saturday morning. At around 9 p.m. on Friday evening, a group of about 500 tuning enthusiasts gathered illegally in the Kockelscheuer car park. The situation was closely monitored by all available officers of the southern district. Only minor violations took place, and everyone left just at the time of the curfew.
