The Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) has spoken out against what it describes as “unacceptable conditions” for public transport staff regarding access to sanitary facilities.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, the LCGB highlighted a persistent lack of toilets at numerous bus terminals. The union also criticised that in locations where such facilities do exist, they are sometimes closed outside of standard working hours.

These circumstances, the LCGB argued, create difficult working conditions that are “unacceptable” for a country like Luxembourg.

To address the issue, the LCGB is demanding that toilets be made available at every bus terminal. The union is also calling for a clear timeline to be established for the completion of this project.

In a separate but related development, the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) has announced a protest action. The demonstration is scheduled to take place on Thursday at the Rout Bréck stop in Kirchberg to raise awareness of the working conditions faced by bus drivers.
