Police were called to the A7 motorway shortly after 1.25am on Wednesday following a collision between two cars just before the Colmar-Berg exit.

Officers identified signs of alcohol consumption in one of the drivers; a breathalyser test confirmed that he was over the legal limit. He was issued with a provisional driving ban on the spot.

Shortly afterwards, at around 1.40am, police stopped another driver on Avenue Frantz in Mondorf-les-Bains. The motorist was travelling at excessive speed, was not wearing a seatbelt, and was unable to produce a valid driving licence.

He also failed an alcohol test. Acting on orders from the public prosecutor, officers seized the vehicle and imposed a provisional driving ban.
