The accident took place at 8.15 pm on Wednesday. Both cars collided and left the driver of each vehicle trapped inside. Emergency services from the capital were sent to the scene to provide assistance, but help came too late for the two motorists.
Both drivers were alone in their cars at the time of the accident. A forensics team was later sent to the scene to determine the potential cause of the collision. The road had to remain closed overnight.
