
In the early morning hours on Saturday, a thief was caught in Wiltz. Around 2 am, the man broke into a pub in the Rue de la Fontaine. He ripped out the register and took some other items with him as well.
After an initial search, the police were unable to locate the thief. But thanks to a description of the perpetrator and CCTV footage, the offender was caught in the Grande-Rue in Wiltz. He was arrested and will be seen by an examining magistrate.
On Saturday afternoon, a police patrol found a parked vehicle on a parking lane in Remich. The police had been notified of an accident in the vicinity. The driver had indeed crashed into a trailer hitch while trying to park his car. After this, the driver fell asleep.
Unsure of the driver’s mental state the police officers opened his car door and established a first contact. The officers noticed that the car smelled of alcohol and found a half-litre beer bottle inside the vehicle. The man had to surrender his driver’s licence.
Furthermore the police were notified of a robbery in Sanem. Somewhere between Saturday evening 6 pm and Sunday morning 1:40 am a thief broke into a house on Rue d’Esch. To get into the house a sliding window was cranked open. The robber went through personal belongings and took some with him.
