On Wednesday morning, police in the capital joined customs officers in conducting checks at the Luxembourg City rail station.

The operation’s focus was to check for violations of drug and immigration regulations, as well as ensuring train passengers were observing rules of conduct.

Between 6am and 9am, officers patrolled the platforms and the areas inside and outside the station. Two people were arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office for theft. In addition, the individuals were found to be in the country illegally.

One other person received a fine and a warning for violating drug laws.
