Chamber of DeputiesTripartite commission to meet again Tuesday

RTL Today
The Chamber's special tripartite commission is set to meet once again on Tuesday afternoon, with MPs expected to discuss the recently published opinion of the State Council.

MPs are still debating the draft law designed to implement part of the proposed tripartite measures, including the postponing of the next index cut, the energy tax credit for low-income households, the freezing of rents, and the adjustment of rent subsidies.

On Friday, the State Council published its opinion on the tripartite agreement (FR), highlighting several points that it formally opposes, which all affect the adjustment of rent subsidies.

The opinion criticises the definition of the “domestic community”, a term which it argues lacks coherence when compared to other laws. Furthermore, the Council believes that there are other formulations in need of clarification, including who is eligible to apply for rent subsidies.
