The incident happened on 2 January 2019, not far away from the hospital in Wiltz. The 47-year-old man committed the horrific attack after a family dispute got out of control. Among the injured were his ex-wife, as well as ten-month-old girl.
Following the deed, the man was put in jail and the prosecution opened an investigation for murder and attempted manslaughter. At the time of the events, the man was not under the influence of alcohol.
The trial will start today, more than two years after the attack.
