RTL Today
As the tram has been operating in the capital since 2017, the time has come for a maintenance check to evaluate the rails. To cause minimal disruption, this job is only done at night.

After all these tram journeys, the rails’ are in need of a little TLC. It is therefore time to bring in a machine that will sharpen all the sides of the rails with great precision. This maintenance work will be carried out in several stages, after a team has checked the condition of the various components.

The works will exclusively be conducted in the evenings and at night, between 10 pm and 4 am to minimise traffic disruption as much as possible.

For one month, a machine which is also used by the CFL for work on the rails, will work on the section between Luxexpo and Place de l’Étoile.

The tram operator is well aware of the fact that the construction site is likely to make some noise as the machine passes by, which is why the residents of Kirchberg have been informed well ahead of time. The maintenance work should be completed by the end of May.
