The mayor of Sanem, Simone Asselborn-Bintz, said that the municipality is aware that the road had previously been closed several times due to minor flooding.
For the time being, neither the Bridges and Roads Authority nor the municipality of Sanem know the cause of the flooding that occurred on Tuesday.
The Bridges and Roads Authority has indicated that it is looking into the cause of the problem and possible solutions. However, the Authority has only just started investigating the matter and could not say how long it will take.
