RTL has received reports of a deer killed on the shores of the Upper Sûre Lake in Lultzhausen. The animal is said to have been bitten to death, leading local residents to speculate that a wolf could have been responsible.

The Nature and Forest Agency responded to RTL on Thursday:

"We can confirm we received reports of a dead deer in Lultzhausen at midday on 29 October. According to an initial assessment by our experts, the possible involvement of a wolf can neither be confirmed nor ruled out at this time. There could of course be many reasons why the deer died. Bite marks, as you can see in part in that photo, often result from other animals subsequently feeding on a carcass."
