A pickpocket targeted a distracted pedestrian in Luxembourg City on Monday evening, only to be apprehended shortly after the theft.
The incident occurred on Rue de Bonnevoie, in the Gare neighbourhood, when an individual approached the victim from behind as they were using their phone. The thief rummaged through the victim’s handbag and successfully stole their wallet.
Although the victim noticed the theft and attempted to intervene, the suspect fled the scene. However, authorities quickly launched a search, leading to the arrest of a suspect shortly afterward.
Following the arrest, the individual was placed in police custody on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.
