The state is increasing its financial contribution to the Road Safety Association, responding to an appeal made by its president following the loss of the organisation’s main sponsor.
The Road Safety Association, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving road safety, will receive additional funding from the government. A new agreement was signed with the Ministry of Mobility two weeks ago, ensuring the continuity of the association’s work.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, the ministry’s contribution will rise from €125,000 to €200,000 starting in 2026.
The increased funding comes in response to a call for help issued by association president Paul Hammelmann in April 2025. During an appearance on RTL Radio, Hammelmann raised the alarm after the Luxembourg Insurance and Reinsurance Association (ACA) announced it would be withdrawing its financial support from 2026, leaving the non-profit in need of alternative funding sources.
