This decision follows a recent routine inspection conducted by the Bridges and Roads Authority, which revealed significant deterioration in the pavement joints of the Haute-Syre viaduct. Consequently, maintaining the previous speed limit of 130 km/h towards Germany is deemed unsafe.
The speed limit had already been temporarily reduced to 70 km/h in the direction of Luxembourg City.
This speed restriction will remain in place until the deteriorated elements are replaced.
