
The emergency services were in high demand from Friday to Saturday as a series of serious accidents occurred. After a motorcyclist was involved in a fatal accident on Friday, two more unlucky motorists succumbed to their injuries overnight.
A Belgian national was involved in a fatal collision on the CR329 between Grummelscheid and Schleif (canton of Wiltz) at 8.10pm.
In as yet unclear circumstances, the car crashed into a tree, causing severe damage to the driver's side. The driver, aged 41, passed away as a result of his injuries. Another person was in the vehicle at the time of crash, but suffered less serious injuries.
The police have launched an appeal for witnesses. Shortly before the accident, the car passed another vehicle. The police are calling for this person to contact the Ardennes police station (phone 244 891 000). Any other witnesses with information are encouraged to come forward.

Early on Saturday morning, at 2.40am, a young motorist lost control of his vehicle between Fouhren and Bettel (canton of Vianden). The 21 year old's car collided with a tree, before sliding off the road and landing in a ditch beside a field.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly before 1am on Saturday morning, a car overturned on the A13 between Schifflange and Kayl, injuring one person in the process.
Some minutes later, another person was injured in a collision between a car and a motorbike on Route d'Arlon.
A car crashed into a parked vehicle on Rue Geespelt in Livange at 1.40am, injuring one person.
Finally, another motorist crashed into a tree on the N5 between Schouweiler and Bascharage at 1.55am. One person suffered injuries in the incident.
