Following a sharp drop in temperatures expected by the end of this week, Meteolux now anticipates snowfall at the beginning of next week.
The cooling will start over the weekend, with temperatures dipping below 0°C by Tuesday.
Although negative temperatures were initially expected sooner, Findel’s weather station now predicts a chillier start next Tuesday, with morning temperatures between -2°C and 0°C and afternoon highs between 2°C and 4°C.
These conditions could set the stage for light snowfall, with Meteolux forecasting rain mixed with snow on Tuesday afternoon. However, as rain is expected later that night, the snow is unlikely to stick.
Higher-altitude areas, particularly in northern Luxembourg, are the most likely to see the season’s first snowflakes.
Weather forecasts remain subject to change, so residents are encouraged to stay updated in the coming days as conditions may shift.
