The SME Fund was launched as an initiative in 2021 by the European Commission, the EU member states, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The fund will have a budget of €30 million for the next three years.

The SME Fund can grant a maximum reimbursement of €2,250 per company. The press briefing also highlighted the information and awareness-raising work that the Luxembourg Institute of Intellectual Property (IPIL) provides to companies.

Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot announced that the fund would be extended by three years during a press briefing on Wednesday morning.
